New Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible uncovered

Bentley's bespoke commissions department has worked its magic on the open-top Continental GT

The Bentley Continental GT Convertible is just about as luxurious an open-air experience as money can buy, but it seems the marque’s special commissions division felt it could do better.

Designed and built by the coachbuilder, the Continental GT Mulliner Convertible receives a set of all-new, 22-inch polished and painted wheels complete with self-levelling badges. A new ‘Double Diamond’ front grille also sets it apart from a standard car, with various exterior trim pieces referencing the Diamond-in-Diamond quilting found inside.

Some 400,000 stitches are what’s required for the Mulliner’s interior finish, which can be found on all four seats, the door cards and even the tonneau cover at the rear. Not only is each individual diamond shape made up of 712 stitches, but buyers can choose two contrasting shades to complement the rest of the cabin – this unique finish is the result of a staggering 18 months of development.

Also featuring inside is a diamond-milled finish on the centre console, which includes an exclusive brushed silver Breitling clock surrounded by a quartet of chrome bullseyes. LED puddle projectors, illuminated Mulliner tread plates and even a newly designed LED instrument panel with matching brushed metal graphics can be found.

Buyers will be treated to the brand’s range-topping 2200W, 18-speaker Naim sound system, seven-theme ambient lighting, and a choice of eight, three-colour interior combinations.

Mulliner’s touch doesn’t stop there, as even the key will be custom-matched to whichever interior colour combination is chosen. Should the extended, 61-colour Mulliner paint range not satisfy you, a bespoke exterior shade can also be optioned at a cost.
