Audi RS6 v Vauxhall VXR8 Clubsport Tourer track video

The Audi RS6 Avant goes up against the Supercharged Vauxhall VXR8 Clubsport Tourer. Track battle video here

The Audi RS6 is a 552bhp, 189mph monster. The four-wheel drive estate car is easily the one of the fastest cars on the planet, and despite the 1935kg kerb weight, the Avant is surprisingly fast on track. It also fared pretty well against the mighty Nissan GT-R when we drag raced them at Bruntingthorpe. The basic RS6 starts at £76,985, although this can quickly rise to over £100k if you get carried away with the options list.

At the other end of the scale, we have the Vauxhall VXR8 Clubsport Tourer, which has been supercharged by TWR. The 610bhp rear-wheel drive Holden-based Vauxhall has the brute power to beat the Audi on paper, but how will it cope when there are corners involved? Including the supercharger, the Vauxhall comes in at £57,000.

Richard Meaden puts both against the stopwatch at the Bedford Autodrome. Which is faster, and perhaps more pertinently, which is more fun? Watch below to find out. And don’t forget to tell us your track battle ideas – email them to eds@evo.co.uk or tweet us via @evomagazine.
